Ibom Air has said that it would continue to partner with Akwa Ibom Government to fight malaria among pregnant women and children from zero to five years .

Speaking while delivering 3000 doses of SP oral and 1000 pieces of insecticide treated nets to the state government on Thursday, the General Manager of Ibom Air Mr George Uriesi said the gesture was in fulfillment of it’s Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) to the people.

Uriesi explained that the target remained pregnant women and children from zero to five years to be protected against malaria.

“The realization is that it’s not only government alone . The benefit is for everybody. I believe that the token we have presented today will help some people.

“But the most important is that Ibom Air can contribute to the awareness because we need to make people to be aware of what to do .

“We have opportunity that we carry people everyday to get to realize that they have things to contribute by keeping the environment clean and what to do when they got infected by Malaria parasite. I think this token will be judiciously used.” The GM said.

State Commissioner for Health, Prof Augustine Umoh who received the items urged other companies operating in the state to join hands with the state government in the health sector to drive the A-R-I-S-E Agenda .

” It is with appreciation and joy in our heart that we receive with a promise that they will be effectively utilized. We will monitor their utilization and ensure that this confidence by Ibom Air to the Ministry to get this to our people . We will ensure that this confidence will not be broken.

“I enjoine other well meaning companies and other corporate citizens as well other Nigerians to join Ibom Air and add value to the good work of His Excellency pastor Umo Eno in the healthcare sector.” Umoh said .
