Zamfara State Zakkat and Endowment Board would empower 100 women through the provision of skills acquisition on different types of trades in order to be self-reliant.
This was disclosed by the chairman of the board, professor Kabiru Umar Jabaka during the flag-off of the programme at Zakkat and Endowment Board conference hall in Gusau.
According to him the board has designed the programme with a view to assisting Less Previlaged women through empowering them to acquire skills.
Professor Jabaka also revealed that the special training to be conducted include, training on how to learn air freshener, shampoo, etc.. He said, the board will assist them with cash after training in order to boost their business.
Jabaka also called on the beneficiaries of the training to use the opportunity so as to be come self reliant.
The chairman also noted that, the programme will continue every month with an increase in the number of women, adding that the target is to ensure that before the end of this year, the board would train 100 women in the state.
He called on the women that did not participate in the first batch to exercise patience as they will be included in the programme.
