10,000 workers to benefit from ICT Training in Nasarawa–Gov. Sule.

Nasarawa State government is set to train about 10,000  civil servants as part of   efforts of the state to ensure that civil servants are ICT- complaints.

Briefing newsmen shortly after the flag-off of the ceremony in Lafia, the state capital, Governor Abdullahi Sule said the purpose of the training was to ensure that state civil servants were updated with the current digital technology.

He however, said government has come to understand that some senior and junior cadre of civil servants in the state are not ICT-compliant.

He further said that, “We understand that most our senior civil servants including permanent secretaries are not  computer illiterate, and as you know this government is all about transparency and creativity’.

“In order to ensure efficiency and transparency we need to have E-governance in the state which will ensure the blocking of leakages and improve our revenue level.

“So we decided to give them training and not just that with computers as well  so as to ensure  that  our civil servants in the state will improve in ICT based knowledge. As you know our state  is still behind when it come to ICT knowledge,” he said’.

Also speaking, head of civil servants, Aberi Aboki, said the world has gone digital, hence there is a need for this training for civil servants in the state to improve their knowledge.
