2023 Polls: Delta PDP declares failure of Buhari, APC to fulfill promises

By Anne Azuka

Delta State PDP Campaign Council on Wednesday declared that the failure of President Muhammadu Buhari and his APC government to fulfilled the 16 promises made to change the fortune of Nigeria during the 2015 campaign was the reason why we are being plunged into severe hardship, after all.

The Director of the campaign council, Mr. Fukekeme Solomon, at a Press Conference in Asaba expressed disappointment, especially as Nigeria today contends with unabating insecurity, rising hunger, and poverty, an economy plagued with huge debts, and prostrate education exemplified by long closure of tertiary institutions.

Solomon named some of the APC promises that remains a mirage till date to include payment of N5000 each to 25 million jobless Nigerians every month, stabilize global oil price at $100 per barrel, revive oil refineries within one year on office, crushing Boko Haram and ending insurgency in the first three months in office, and to wipe out corruption in the first year of office, among others.

He therefore, advised Nigerians to look beyond the box before casting their vote, “because APC has deliberately scuttled the structure of the unity of this nation to the extent that Nigeria is disunited and fractured”.

“The APC-led Federal Government has done more to divide Nigerians than unite us in addition to the biting poverty, and so the country needs to be rescued, reset, and rebuilt from the ashes of the APC misrule.

“And for that to happen, we of the Delta campaign Council is strongly calling on all Nigerians, nay all Deltans to Vote Atiku Abubakar for President and Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for Governor of Delta State.

“Indeed, Atiku Abubakar truly illustrates the model example of the President that Nigeria needs now; he is detribalized, cosmopolitan, a unifying figure, a successful businessman, and a pan-Nigerian.

“As former Vice-President, his management of the economy was exceptionally good, far better than what is currently experienced under this crushing APC-led Federal Government and Nigerians stand to gain from his wealth of experience”, he assured.

According to him, APC has deceived Nigerians enough with its maladministration of the country in all ramifications. APC destroyed Nigeria from 2015 to 2023 and therefore has no moral basis to ask for another tenure from Nigerians; so voting for APC is like pour Oil on white clothes.

While urging Nigerians to reject APC and it’s Presidential candidate, Alhaji Bola Tinubu, whose physical ability and mental state of mind is in question; the one on whose neck hangs the yoke of unanswered questions about his age, parentage, and State of origin, the Director of PDP campaign council thus asked Nigerians to vote for PDP’s Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar who is in a better stead to rescue and restore Nigeria from the suffocating grip of the APC.
