Davido Announces New Single ‘I Know Who I Be’ for June 26 Release
By Abigail David
Nigerian music star Davido has announced the release of a new single, I Know Who I Be, set to drop on June 26.
The forthcoming track features Jazzwrld and GL_Ceejay and marks Davido’s return with new solo music following a period of limited releases.
The award-winning singer revealed the news on his X account on Monday, telling fans that “the journey to the throne begins” as he unveiled plans for the project. He also confirmed that I Know Who I Be would be released on June 26, alongside promotional images for the song.
The announcement has sparked excitement among fans, especially after Davido disclosed in May that he intended to take a temporary break from making music.
Davido rose to prominence in 2012 with the hit single Dami Duro and later established DMW Records, a label that has nurtured several successful artistes.
Before this announcement, his last solo release was Be There Still, released in March 2025. He most recently appeared as a featured artiste on Nakupenda by TxC.
The new single follows Davido’s performance at the opening concert of the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown series in Los Angeles, further strengthening his international profile.
With acclaimed projects such as Omo Baba Olowo, A Good Time, A Better Time, and Timeless, Davido remains one of the leading figures in the global Afrobeats scene. Fans will now be looking forward to what he delivers with I Know Who I Be.

Bella Shmurda Alleges $4 Million Property Fraud, Seeks Legal Redress
By Abigail David
Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda has alleged that he was defrauded in a property transaction after paying $4 million for a house in Lagos.
The singer made the claim during an emotional Instagram Live session, where he said he recently discovered that the person who sold him the property was not the rightful owner.
Bella Shmurda said the development had left him distressed and that he was concerned about recovering the money he invested in the property.
According to the singer, he has instructed his lawyer to investigate the transaction and pursue appropriate legal steps.
“Nigeria, I need your help. I’m not doing okay right now. I spent $4 million of my own hard-earned money, only to find out I bought stolen property. I worked for years for this. I can’t lose $4 million like that,” he said.
As of the time of this report, the allegations have not been independently verified, and no official statement has been issued by law enforcement authorities or any party connected to the transaction.

Davido Reveals Five Items He Never Travels Without, Says Wedding Ring Is Most Precious
By Abigail David
Afrobeats star Davido has shared the five items he never travels without, describing his wedding ring as the most valuable because it represents his commitment to his wife.
Speaking in an interview with Mystery Fashionist, the award-winning singer discussed his fashion preferences, luxury accessories and shopping habits.
Davido said he has always enjoyed fashion and shopping but now relies on a stylist due to his busy schedule. He added that he often buys gifts for his wife whenever he visits a store.

Explaining why his wedding ring is especially meaningful, the singer said it symbolises the vows he made in marriage.
“My wedding ring is my most precious, most important piece of jewellery because I have a vow to follow. A ring is a symbol to show I have a partner; stay away, I’m taken,” he said.
Davido also listed the five items he always travels with: his American passport, Bottega headphones, an 18-karat Rolex wristwatch, his wedding ring and a Cuban link chain, which he said is valued at nearly one million dollars.
