FCTA moves to construct 10,000 public toilets to tackle open defecation in Abuja

As a way of tackling open defecation in the territory the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has indicated moves to construct 10,000 public toilets in strategic locations across the territory to tackle open defecation in the territory.

Director FCT Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), Dr. Mohammed Dan-Hassan made this disclosure on Monday during the sensitisation campaign for residents on ills associated with open defecation.

Dan- Hassan however recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had in 2018 launched an emergency on water sanitation and hygiene in the country which signals the declaration of emergency on open defecation in the 36 states of the federation including the FCT.
