Rigging, shooting scatter voters at Lugbe Polling Unit

… INEC officials dish out already thumb printed ballot papers

Confusion erupted today as rigging, shooting scattered and marred voting at the LEA Primary School Unit, Lugbe 2, as voters had waited for long to vote.

According to an eye witness and voter, Mrs Dodo Osuagwu, there was brazen massive rigging today and disenfranchisement of voters who had come out early to cast their votes.

Mrs Osuagwu said, ” There was massive rigging here today, till the Army people came and scattered everywhere as people scampered to safety. Many people left without voting.”
She complained that many voters were denied casting their votes as at 6.30pm at the Local Education Area, LEA, Primary School , Lugbe 2 because of brazen massive rigging and electoral malpractices.

She lamented that she was denied the chance of voting for her choice of candidates at the Presidential, Senate and House of Representatives positions.

At Karu Polling Unit 062 , Agric Quarters , Daybreak noticed that INEC officials were giving out two Presidential ballot papers already having the Labour Party thumb print to some voters to duplicate and conceal their votes.
An woman who was given two Presidential ballot papers rejected it and insisted on getting a clean paper before she voted.

Also ,at the Ruga Unit , Chief Palace in Mararaba, voting was almost marred because of late arrival of INEC officials, electoral materials, which delayed and prolonged voting process.

As at 5.00pm votingas still ongoing at the time of filing this report, at Ruga Unit.

Another voter at Jikwoyi Phase 1, Primary School Polling Unit, Mr. Edward Ewah, lamented of late arrival of INEC officials and materials.

Mr. Ewah told Daybreak that, election materials, as he lamented that the Polling Unit was crowded with more than 1,000 voters who were waiting patiently for the arrival of INEC officials.

He said, ” The materials is not enough, people are ready to vote, and there is just one BVAS machine to capture the crowd.

The Labour Party, LP, Logo was not there, only ” Papa, Mama and Pikin”, this is confusing, he complained.
