Senate Presidency: A’Ibom Governor, Enoidem congratulate Akpabio

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom congratulated newly elected Presiden of the 10th Senate, Godswill Akpabio, pledging to work closely with him for the advancement of the state.

A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh made available to newsmen in Uyo yesterday also commended the peaceful, fair and transparent process that characterized the election.

The Governor commended the Senate for finding a son and a former Governor of Akwa Ibom worthy to occupy the prestigious position.

“The process was free, fair and transparent and is a testament to the deepening of our democratic traditions and ethos.

“I have always said that politics is over and it’s time for governance, and that, demands we work across party lines to advance the cause of our development.

“We stand ready to work collaboratively with you, to move the needle of development, growth and progress of our dear State in particular and the Nation in general.

“Once again, on behalf of the government and people of Akwa Ibom, congratulations.” The statement said.

Meanwhile, the PDP candidate for Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District and who finished behind Akpabio in the 2023 general election, Barr Emmanuel Enoidem has congratulated Akpabio describing his emergence as well deserved.

The former PDP National Legal Adviser commended the new Senate President for his doggedness and noted that he has no doubt that the new Senate President would use his elevation to influence the enactment of people oriented legislations that would impact on job creation, infrastructural renaissance, national security and unification of the country.

“I believe that while you will be constantly conscious of your responsibilities for your immediate constituency: the Akwa Ibom Northwest Senatorial District, you will use your preeminent position to further and advance the cause of Akwa Ibom State at all times.

“I wish you God’s grace, wisdom, understanding, sound health and courage to lead the 10th Senate on the right path for the good of humanity.” Enoidem stated.

Akpabio, is an indegene of Ukana in Essien Udim Local Government Council of the state is a second time Senator and represents Akwa Ibom North West.
