Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface, has been honored with the Golden Boot award for achieving the joint top scorer position in the UEFA Europa League during the previous season. Boniface shares this prestigious title with Manchester United’s frontman, Marcus Rashford, as both players managed to score six goals in Europe’s second-tier club competition.
The presentation of the award took place on Thursday night, just before Bayer Leverkusen’s home match against Qarabag at the BayArena. This recognition came as a result of Boniface’s outstanding performance, which subsequently led to his transfer from the Belgian Pro League club, Union St Gilloise, to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
At only 22 years of age, Victor Boniface has already made a significant impact, contributing with two goals and an assist in three appearances for Die Werkself in the current season. This achievement signifies a promising start to his career at the new club.
