Breaking News: Kaduna Baptist Student Finally Released After Two Years in Captivity

By Daniel Edu

In a remarkable turn of events, Ayuba, a student who was abducted by bandits on July 5, 2021, from the Kaduna Baptist school in Maraban Damishi, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has been freed after an agonizing two-year captivity.

Recalling the horrifying incident, on that fateful day, bandits stormed the school premises and kidnapped 121 students, leading to an extensive search and efforts to secure their release. Thankfully, 120 of the abducted students were released earlier after a ransom payment, leaving Ayuba as the sole captive even after a ransom was paid for his release.

In a glimmer of hope, Ayuba was released by the bandits on Thursday, marking an end to his prolonged ordeal. Following his release, he was promptly taken to an undisclosed hospital for a thorough medical examination to assess his condition after the lengthy period of captivity.

The news outlet also reported that Ayuba has been successfully reunited with his parents, bringing immeasurable relief to his family and loved ones. With Ayuba’s release, it is confirmed that all the kidnapped students from the Kaduna Baptist school have now regained their freedom, marking a significant milestone in their harrowing journey.
