Tragedy Strikes as Illegal Refinery Explosion Claims 25 Lives in Rivers State

In a devastating incident in Omoku, Rivers State, at least 25 individuals lost their lives due to an explosion resulting from an illegal oil tapping point. Allegedly breaking a pipeline belonging to a multinational oil company, youths resorted to scooping fuel, leading to the fatal tragedy on Sunday morning. Many others sustained burns of varying degrees and are undergoing treatment in local hospitals. The inferno, caused by suspected oil thieves attempting to light mosquito coils, highlights the dangers associated with illegal oil activities. Community leaders urge youths to engage in lawful pursuits, emphasizing the need for security agencies and oil companies to address the issue and enhance facility safety.
