Nollywood Actress Ireti Doyle Shares Harrowing Near-Death Experience from Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

By Daniel Edu

Renowned Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle has revealed a chilling near-death encounter with carbon monoxide poisoning. In an Instagram post on Sunday, she recounted the incident, which unfolded just thirty minutes after a joyful moment with her children.

Ireti shared that she was discovered unconscious in a car, foaming at the mouth with blood trickling down her nose. The harrowing incident occurred on November 19, 2023, when she was scheduled to speak at a tertiary institution on the outskirts of Lagos.

In her post, the actress expressed gratitude for the presence of her sons and the decision to make a brief stop at the mall before the trip. She revealed that carbon monoxide had somehow infiltrated the car through the AC vents, posing a serious threat.

Ireti emphasized that her survival was nothing short of a miracle, attributing it to divine intervention. She stated, “The ONLY reason I am alive to tell this story is because God, in His infinite mercy, said NO.”

The actress acknowledged the synchronicity of events, as the best medical personnel, logistics, and resources aligned in her favor on that critical day. She urged others to take heed of the silent and swift nature of carbon monoxide poisoning, emphasizing the importance of awareness.

Ireti concluded her post with a powerful affirmation of faith, stating, “God is also real… and He is faithful. I am a walking, talking, breathing testament to His faithfulness.”
