Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan has spoken out in defense of former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, amidst his alleged theft scandal.

In a post shared on her Instagram page, Cynthia expressed her disbelief whenever she sees news updates regarding Emefiele. She questioned the integrity of former President Buhari and his vice, Osinbajo, wondering how they could have appointed someone accused of fraud to such a significant position.

Cynthia highlighted Emefiele’s initial reputation as a savior during Buhari’s first term but expressed skepticism over his alleged involvement in fraud. She argued that it’s unlikely for someone to suddenly engage in such criminal activities overnight and questioned the vetting process that led to his appointment.

The singer emphasized the need for prayers and collective efforts to address the challenges facing Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Emefiele is facing accusations of a $6.3 million theft, with President Bola Tinubu appointing Mr. Obazee to investigate the matter. The EFCC presented a former CBN branch controller as its first prosecution witness, who testified about receiving written approvals from Buhari, the former SGF Mustapha, and Emefiele for the withdrawal of the money. However, Mustapha denied giving approval, alleging that his and Buhari’s signatures were forged.

In another development, Cynthia Morgan called out the music industry for its lack of genuine friendship, noting that people only reach out when they need something. She recounted her own experience during her crisis, where only a few individuals stood by her while others, including past collaborators, distanced themselves.
