The Kaduna State Chapter of the Congress of Northern Nigeria Christians (CNNC), has expressed  concern over the continuous killings of innocent citizens by bandits in parts of the state.
This was contained in a statement issued by the state chairman of Congress, Elder Bulus Dogara, and made available newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday.
The stated stressed that “Painfully, the CNNC expresses great sense of dismay over the recent barbaric killings of people at Kwassam, in Kauru local government area and Gindin Dutse Makyali village, Kajuru local government areas of Kaduna state by suspected bandits where some of the victims were burnt beyond recognition.”
It added that some houses in the communities were set ablaze while foodstuffs and properties were completely destroyed by the attackers at the hard times that people are living from hand to mouth.
The Congress urged the federal and Kaduna State governments to urgently investigate these and other killings been carried out in communities in the state and other parts of the country and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book no matter who their status, saying that no one is above the law of the land.
The chairman also called on the Kaduna state and the federal governments to urgently direct its emergency management agencies to supply the victims with all the necessary humanitarian interventions especially those who are injured and are receiving treatments in various health facilities outside the local government areas, are well attended to.
“Those whose houses were brought down by the attackers should be assisted with building materials to enable them have shelter to continue with life. This would help in cushioning the effects of this evil act going on unabatedly against the peace loving people,” the statement added.
As people of conscience and law abiding citizens, the congress called on the people to be more security conscious at this time and enjoined them to jealously protect their communities and report to security agencies all sorts of suspicious movements especially of people with questionable characters living within and without their communities for interrogation.
The Congress assured of its determination to build bridges of peace and mutual coexistence through intercommunity collaboration, stressing that it is aimed at fostering peace and unity in the state.
The congress appealed to government’s relevant agencies and all security organizations working in Kauru, Kajuru and other local  government areas in the state to step up their games to ensure that these incessant attacks going on in Kauru LGA especially at Kumana Chiefdom and some parts of Kauru LGA, and Chawai Chiefdoms, Kajuru and other parts of the state are tactically stopped and brought to a timely end.
