Simi Responds to Fans’ Critique of Her Musical Style

By Daniel Edu

Nigerian songstress Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has recently addressed criticism from fans suggesting she should diversify her music style.

The incident unfolded when Simi shared a snippet of her new song on X, prompting a fan with the handle @Zeebaby_X to suggest she should switch up her sound for more variety. This comment garnered support from others in the comment section.

In response, Simi diplomatically invited feedback from critics, urging them to pinpoint similarities among her recent releases and suggesting improvements. She cited British sensation Adele as an example, noting that despite sticking to a similar genre, Adele’s fans don’t pressure her for change.

Simi humorously addressed the misconception that she’s content with her current style, emphasizing that if listeners don’t resonate with her music, they’re free to explore other artists. She emphasized her openness to constructive criticism while asserting her commitment to her artistic integrity.

Ultimately, Simi’s message conveyed a blend of resilience and humility, reaffirming her dedication to her craft while respecting the diverse tastes of her audience.
