Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwodo has been confirmed dead, hours after being reported to have returned to life. The news was shared by Nollywood producer Stanley in an Instagram Live post, where he stated that they did everything possible to save him.

“He’s confirmed dead. It’s well. We have tried all we could,” Stanley said.

On his Instagram story, Stanley reiterated the news, stating that Junior Pope had indeed passed away.

“Jnr Pope is gone finally,” he posted.

Initially, Daybreak Nigeria reported that the actor was still alive after returning to life. According to earlier reports, the actor was rejected at the mortuary because he was said to be still alive.

Following the ordeal, Junior Pope was taken to a Water Shrine for rituals. In videos circulated online, he was seen struggling for his life.

Actress Uche Nnanna also confirmed that Junior Pope was still alive at one point and called for prayers for his recovery, emphasizing that what God cannot do does not exist.

The actor’s death was linked to an incident where he reportedly drowned while returning from a movie set with his colleagues in Anambra State.
