Group Seeks Kogi Government Support to Rebuild Onu Egume Palace

A community group has called on the Kogi State Government to support efforts to rebuild the palace of the Onu Egume, the traditional head of the Okura District in Dekina Local Government Area. The appeal was made by the National President of the Egume-Ome Descendants Union (EODU), Comrade Sunday Maji, while addressing journalists in Lokoja.

Maji said government intervention is needed to preserve and strengthen traditional institutions, noting their role in community development and cultural heritage. He added that the Egume community is committed to contributing its share toward the reconstruction project and urged support from government, private organisations, and individuals.
