“The police will draw on experiences from the general elections of 2019 to ensure free, fearful and credible elections” IGP

By Jennifer Y Omiloli

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu promised on Saturday that the police would be professional and neutral in conducting the governorship elections in Kogi and Bayalsa States on November 16.

The IGP stated this at an event held by the Lafia Progressive Forum in his honor at Lafia.

Adamu said the police would draw on their experiences from the general elections of 2019 to ensure free, fearful and credible elections in both states.

According to him, the police will provide the necessary support to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that all political parties have a level playing field.

He also said that in all parts of the country, the police under his leadership would continue to do everything possible to fight crime.

The IGP also expressed gratitude and promised not to disappoint Lafia’s people for honoring him.

“There is nothing good than for one to be celebrated by his people at home. I will continue to be a good ambassador of my community by discharging my duties with sincerity and the fear of God,” Adamu added.
