Invite El-rufai to answer questions on $350m loot -Shehu Sani

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Senator Shehu Sani, the Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone in the 8th Senate has advised that interrogating former aides of Governor Nasiru El-rufai will lead to nothing if El-rufai himself is not invited to answer questions on the $350 million looted from the state.

Shehu Sani who gave the advise that El-rufai should be the right person to be invited for interrogation if true fact finding is to take place, disclosed this on his verified Facebook page recently.

Recall the adhoc committee set up to conduct a comprehensive fact-finding into financial dealings, the status of executed contracts, loans, grants, and project implementation from 2015-2023 has commenced its clarification session in Kaduna.

The committee set up to probe the past regime of Elrufai has engaged in detailed interrogations with several key present and past government officials.

Those officials includes former Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce, Honorable Manzo Maigari; Former KADPPA Boss and Commissioner of Budget and Planning, Honorable Thomas Gyang, Commissioner and Administrator of Zaria Metropolitan Authority, Hajia Balaraba Aliyu, amongst others.

Sani who made statement while talking on the interrogation of former advisers, commissioners and others by the Kaduna State government, noted that true facts financial findings would not ascertain with gmthe official olone.

Sani explained that it is only El-rufai that can answer questions on the loans and even the whereabout of Kaduna shares of the Paris refund, excess crude funds, ecological funds, stamp duties funds as well as billions in loans collected from the Central Bank and other domestic banks.

He also stated that it is only El-rufai that can give the required information about all those contractor and consultants that took monies and ran away as well as all those who benefitted from the sharing of Kaduna State properties.

Sani sarcastically said that those involved should count themselves lucky as he is not the one investigating the matter as he has no time for games.

“Recovering Kaduna’s looted $350 million World Bank loan cannot be achieved by only inviting and interrogating the former Commissioners and Advisers, without inviting and interrogating the former Governor to answer questions on the loan; as well as explain the whereabouts of Kaduna’s Share of Paris refund, Excess Crude funds, Stamp Duties Funds, Ecological Funds and the Billions in loans collected from the Central Bank and Domestic Banks.

“All those contractors and useless consultants who took money and runaway and all those who benefited from the sharing of Kaduna State properties and are still enjoying themselves, should count themselves lucky that it’s not Shehu Sani. I don’t have time for playing games” he stated.
