Nigerian Police Detain Crypto Mogul BLord Over Allegations of Fraud and Terrorism Financing

By  Milcah   Tanimu

Linus Williams, popularly known as BLord, a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency world, has been apprehended by the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja. His arrest on Tuesday comes amid serious allegations including cryptocurrency fraud, funding of terrorism, and facilitating internet fraud through his business operations.

Muyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson for the police, confirmed the arrest and explained that it was prompted by multiple complaints lodged against BLord’s companies. He emphasized that the investigation would be comprehensive to ensure accountability.

“The charges against him encompass cryptocurrency fraud, aiding internet fraud, computer-related fraud, and terrorism financing, in addition to failure to comply with regulatory standards,” Adejobi noted. He reiterated the police’s commitment to maintaining a secure cyberspace for all citizens.

Furthermore, Adejobi clarified that the recent petition leading to BLord’s arrest was not initiated by Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, dispelling any rumors surrounding the involvement of other parties in the case.
