Ilkay Gundogan’s future at Barcelona remains uncertain as he is reportedly considering a move to Galatasaray in the Turkish league. According to Spanish outlet *Sport*, Galatasaray has initiated discussions to explore the possibility of signing Gundogan, who has expressed concerns about his role at Barcelona following a conversation with coach Hansi Flick.
Despite having a year left on his contract, Gundogan has indicated a desire to leave Barcelona, primarily due to expectations of reduced playing time compared to last season. His absence from Barcelona’s squad for their first La Liga match further highlights his precarious position within the team.
Galatasaray is interested in signing Gundogan as a free agent, though Barcelona is currently not inclined to facilitate his departure. The club would prefer to retain Gundogan due to his substantial salary, one of the highest in the squad. Gundogan has long been attracted to the idea of playing in Turkey but did not anticipate making the move so soon.
As the summer transfer window approaches its close, the situation remains fluid, with Gundogan’s potential move to Galatasaray continuing to be a topic of speculation.
