Wike to Face PDP Disciplinary Committee Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has summoned Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, to appear before its disciplinary committee over allegations of anti-party activities.

The PDP’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, revealed this on Monday during an appearance on Channels Television’s program, *Sunrise Daily*. Abdullahi stated that Wike had been officially summoned in a letter to appear before the disciplinary committee, led by Chief Tom Ikimi, which was established by the party’s National Working Committee.

“Three weeks ago, we established two committees, one for reconciliation and the other for discipline. Nyesom Wike is among those who have been asked to face the disciplinary committee headed by elder statesman Chief Tom Ikimi,” Abdullahi explained.

The committee will investigate allegations of anti-party activities, with numerous petitions having been submitted regarding actions perceived as undermining the party throughout the primaries. These petitions against Wike and other party members have been collected and forwarded to the committee.

Abdullahi noted that some party members have questioned why Wike is still a member of the PDP, considering his recent behavior and remarks, including his comment about “putting fire in their states” regarding PDP governors. “Wike should manage his words carefully; that was a very disappointing remark. We were not expecting him to say that, and we do not support such statements,” Abdullahi added.

These developments come just two days after Wike expressed his satisfaction with his role in Bola Tinubu’s administration, despite facing criticism from within the PDP. Addressing party members during the PDP Congress in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Wike threatened to cause political turmoil in the states of any PDP governor who interferes in the party’s affairs in the South-South region. He also stated that anyone unhappy with his position in Tinubu’s government should “go and hug the transformer.”
