The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a lawsuit aimed at removing Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). On Monday, Justice Inyang Ekwo ruled that the suit, filed by the Northern APC Forum, lacked merit and failed to establish the legal standing of the plaintiff.
The court found no evidence proving the plaintiff’s legal entity status, nor that it had exhausted internal party dispute mechanisms before approaching the court. Justice Ekwo emphasized that the appointment of APC officers falls within the party’s internal affairs, beyond judicial interference.
The plaintiff argued that Ganduje’s appointment violated the APC Constitution, as the chairmanship should have been filled by someone from the North Central region. The court, however, ruled against the claim, dismissing the suit entirely.
