Man Utd, Spurs Eye Respite with Europa League Fixtures

By  Milcah  Tanimu

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are set to kick off their Europa League campaigns this week, hoping to move past their recent disappointments in the Premier League.

Manchester United, managed by Erik ten Hag, has struggled to find form this season, currently sitting outside the top ten with just seven points from five matches. The team’s poor start has continued from last season, where they recorded their worst-ever Premier League finish, coming in eighth place. Ten Hag managed to retain his position largely due to an unexpected FA Cup victory over Manchester City, but pressure is mounting for a turnaround in performance.

Tottenham, on the other hand, is feeling the weight of expectations as fan discontent begins to surface. Following a strong start under manager Ange Postecoglou, recent back-to-back losses against Newcastle and Arsenal had fans worried. However, a 3-1 victory over Brentford helped restore some confidence. Spurs are eager to end their 17-year trophy drought and view the Europa League as a prime opportunity, especially with the tournament format now excluding teams that drop down from the Champions League.

This week’s fixtures promise exciting matchups, including:
