Tinubu Faces Pressure to Appoint El-Rufai and Shehu Sani to Cabinet

By  Milcah   Tanimu

President **Bola Tinubu** is facing increasing pressure to appoint **Nasir El-Rufai** and **Shehu Sani** to his cabinet. The **Mandate Protection Vanguard** (MPV), a civil society group, urges Tinubu to include them, emphasizing their ability to address Nigeria’s economic and social challenges.

**Gbenga Soloki**, MPV Coordinator, stressed that while Tinubu has already selected some allies, more qualified Nigerians like El-Rufai and Sani should be considered. He emphasized the importance of appointing ministers who are politically astute and have deep economic expertise.

**El-Rufai**, the former **Kaduna State Governor**, earned recognition for his pragmatic governance style, while **Shehu Sani**, a civil rights activist and former senator, gained respect for his strong advocacy for social justice. MPV believes their inclusion would bring competent leadership to Tinubu’s administration and strengthen the link between the government and citizens.

Additionally, MPV recommends **Professor Barth Nnaji**, a former **Minister of Power**, known for his work in energy sector reforms. His expertise remains crucial as Nigeria continues grappling with power supply challenges.

As Nigeria’s economic concerns grow, MPV argues that Tinubu needs to appoint experienced leaders who can navigate the country through its difficulties and restore stability.
