By Isreal Adamu, Jos

The Plateau State government has approved a new minimum wage of N70,000 for its workforce. This decision follows the Agreement of the Committee on Consequential Adjustment on Salaries, finalized on November 13, 2024.

In a statement, the Plateau State Head of Service, Stephen Pam Gadong, highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting its workers’ welfare and aspirations. The approval, by Governor Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, underscores the administration’s dedication to improving the living standards of public sector employees.

The new wage policy reflects the Governor’s acknowledgment of the essential role workers play in the state’s development. Civil servants are encouraged to embrace this gesture and recommit to their duties with renewed dedication, fostering a culture of productivity and excellence in service across Plateau State.
