Residents will be happy to see the fruits of governance in Abuja

By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

The FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike has given assurances that in the shortest possible time residents of the Capital City will be happy to see the fruits of governance in the nation’s capital.

Wike gave this assurance on Tuesday during the inspection of the Saburi – Dei Dei road construction.

The minister who was satisfied with the contractor’s commitment to deliver the road in December , disclosed that the completion of the road is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda to fulfill promises made to satisfy the people.

He said, “I always say, and we believe that part of the Renewed Hope Agenda is to make promises and fulfill the promises upon promises we have made, so obviously we have gone ahead to satisfy the people.”

“When you say governance, provision of infrastructure and other things inclusive is about governance, providing security is also governance, making sure that people have quality education is also governance, being transparent is also part of good governance.”

The minister , however, pleaded that Nigerians should be patient for them to witness the fruits of democracy.
He said, “You know what I tell people is just for them to be patient , Nigerians because things have been so bad they would rather not be patient, but we can see that the fruit of democracy is coming out.”

Maybe not the way you want it, but slowly but at the end of the day, it is important that the people are happy, and for me, what makes me happy is just as we are standing here, everybody is happy, he explained.
