Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has revealed that Victor Osimhen’s loan deal from Napoli includes a clause allowing the striker to leave during the January transfer window. Despite this provision, Buruk reassured fans that the Nigerian international plans to remain with the Turkish giants until the end of the season.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Buruk stated, “Osimhen has expressed his intention to stay here through the season. He mentioned the same when he joined the club.”
The 25-year-old Super Eagles forward joined Galatasaray on the final day of the transfer window after failed negotiations with Al-Ahli and Chelsea. Buruk highlighted the clause in Osimhen’s contract, saying, “There is a clause about January transfers, but it’s ultimately up to the player. He has consistently said he wants to stay, and Galatasaray will do everything possible to retain him, even financially pushing limits if needed.”
Osimhen has already made a significant impact, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in just nine appearances across all competitions. His impressive form has further cemented his importance to Galatasaray’s campaign this season.
While Buruk acknowledged the possibility of a move in the future, he emphasized that a transfer during the January window appears unlikely. “The decision rests with the player. Right now, he is fully committed to Galatasaray,” the coach added.
This development follows months of speculation surrounding Osimhen’s future, with the striker being one of the most sought-after players in recent transfer windows.
