Governor Uba Sani to employ 2,000 Health Personnel

The Kaduna State Government under the administration of Governor Uba Sani is making significant strides in transforming primary healthcare through a series of impactful initiatives.

To bolster human capital development, the Governor has approved the immediate recruitment of 2,000 health personnel, comprising 1,800 permanent staff and 200 temporary staff.

“This effort aims to enhance the state’s healthcare delivery system”, according to statement anchored by an NGO known as Kaduna Maternal Accountability Mechanism (KADMAM), headed by Isah Gidado as Co-chair.

In addition, the administration has established Centers of Excellence in each of the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.

The centers will act as focal points for all Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs) within their respective LGAs, providing essential referral linkages to general hospitals, many of which are currently undergoing renovations, thereby improving healthcare services for citizens.

The governor has also initiated the distribution of essential medicines to all PHC centers and has procured state-of-the-art equipment for these facilities throughout the state.

The positive impact of these initiatives is already becoming evident, with significant improvements in the state’s healthcare system.

Allocation of N71.65 billion to the health sector in the 2024 budget underscores the administration’s commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and promoting healthy lives for all residents.

Under Governor Uba Sani’s leadership, Kaduna State is poised to become a model for healthcare delivery in Nigeria.

The administration’s dedication to healthcare is further emphasized by an even larger budget allocation for the health sector in the 2025 budget, which will be utilized to upgrade additional healthcare facilities, procure more medical equipment, and expand mobile healthcare services.

His efforts to revolutionize primary healthcare in Kaduna State are commendable. *With improved access to quality healthcare services, residents can anticipate better health outcomes, increased life expectancy, and an overall enhanced quality of life” he stated..
