FG trains over 175 youths from the North Central region of Nigeria

The Federal government through the office of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction has concluded a three weeks training for over 175  Youths to Boost Nigeria’s Renewable Energy, Agriculture, and Auto Sectors. 

Our correspondent reports that the North Central Training under the Skills-to-Wealth training programme took place at  Shere Hills, Jos, the Plateau state capital. 

Speaking at the closing ceremony the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Prof  Nentawe Yilwatda , described the programme as a key step in driving transformation and reducing poverty through skill acquisition.

The minister explained that the Skills to wealth initiative aims to arm young people with practical skill and set  that  to enable them to participate productively in the economy.

“The essence of this programme is to equip unemployed youths with skills that meet the current demands of Nigerians,” he stated.

Yilwatda said ” We are addressing critical challenges such as food insecurity by training individuals to help bridge the food deficit in Nigeria.’

“Energy shortages are also being tackled by preparing skilled workers to close the energy gap. Additionally, with the increasing automation of vehicles, we are developing manpower capable of managing these advanced technologies, he added.
