Oborevwori Vows to Reward Top Corps Members in Delta

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has pledged to reward Corps members who distinguish themselves during their national service year in the state. 

The governor made the pledge on Friday during the Opening/Swearing-in Ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream 11 Orientation Course held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation camp, Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the State.

The governor, represented at the ceremony by the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr. Trakiriowei Harry ThankGod reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, noting that exceptional performance by corps members would not go unnoticed.

“Government remains committed to supporting the NYSC scheme and will continue to uphold its tradition of recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance,” the governor stated.

He further reminded the corps members that their deployment to Delta was an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to national development, assuring them that their safety and welfare would remain a priority throughout their service year.

Earlier in his address, the State Coordinator, NYSC Delta State, Mr. John Kwaghe disclosed that a total of 1,554 prospective corps members, comprising of 808 males and 746 females had been deployed to Delta State for the 2025 service year.

Mr. Kwaghe lauded the state government for its unwavering support, stating that the successful commencement of the orientation programme was largely due to the state’s continued assistance and cooperation.

He encouraged the corps members to make the most of their time in Delta by serving with diligence and integrity.
