Ododo Urges Religious Tolerance as Muslims, Christians Begin Ramadan, Lent

Governor of has called on residents to uphold religious tolerance, remain vigilant and promote peaceful coexistence as Muslims and Christians commence the holy seasons of Ramadan and Lent.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Hon. Ismaila Isah, the governor described Ramadan and Lent as sacred periods of fasting, prayer, reflection and spiritual rejuvenation for Muslims and Christians respectively.

According to him, the holy seasons present an opportunity for believers to strengthen their relationship with Almighty God and reaffirm their commitment to the values of compassion, charity, humility, sacrifice and self-discipline.

Governor Ododo urged adherents of both faiths to use the period to pray for sustained peace, stability and development in Kogi State and Nigeria at large.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting freedom of worship and fostering harmonious coexistence among people of different religious backgrounds across the state.

The governor prayed that Almighty Allah and God accept the fasts, prayers and acts of devotion offered during Ramadan and Lent. He also advised citizens to remain law-abiding and vigilant, while sustaining the peace and progress currently enjoyed in the state.

Ododo further encouraged residents to extend kindness and support to the less privileged, stressing that love, mutual respect and compassion embody the true essence of both sacred seasons.
