The Abuja Leadership Centre (ALC) at Yakubu Gowon University, Abuja (formerly known as the University of Abuja), is seeking a partnership with the Ministry of Defence to promote knowledge exchange, conferences, and research initiatives.
This was made known by the Director of the Centre, Prof. Philip Dahida, during a courtesy visit on February 27, 2026, where he led a delegation from the institute to meet with the Honourable Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa.
Prof. Dahida indicated that the purpose of the visit was to explore potential areas of collaboration, particularly in knowledge exchange, conferences, and research initiatives. He described the engagement as a significant success, marked by productive discussions and a shared commitment to strengthening institutional partnerships.
He expressed appreciation to Gen. Musa and the Defence Ministry for the warm reception and hospitality extended to the ALC delegation, emphasizing the institution’s enthusiasm for partnering with the Ministry.
The Abuja Leadership Centre is a TETFUND Centre of Excellence for Public Governance and Leadership, dedicated to enhancing public governance and leadership both in Nigeria and beyond.
Gen. Musa has been in his position as Nigeria’s Minister of Defence for about three months, having assumed office on December 5, 2025, following his appointment and confirmation by the Senate. Prior to this role, he served as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) from 2023 to 2025.
