The Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, has appointed Mrs. Uredo Omale as the university’s new Public Relations Officer (PRO). The appointment takes immediate effect, according to a letter signed by the university’s Registrar, Barr. Yahaya Segun Alilu, and made available to journalists in Kogi State.Before her appointment, Omale served as Director of Public Relations and Protocol at Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, where she worked for six years between 2020 and 2026.
The university described her as an experienced communications professional who has contributed significantly to institutional public relations practice. During her tenure at the polytechnic, she coordinated media engagements and strengthened relationships between the institution and its stakeholders. According to the university, Omale is expected to oversee strategic communication activities, manage internal and external media relations, and support efforts to promote the institution’s image and reputation.
In a related development, the Vice-Chancellor also appointed Babaniyi Power Ayo-Olowasimi as Technical Assistant.Prior to the appointment, Babaniyi served in several roles within the university, including Head of the Management Information Systems (MIS) Unit, Administrative and Training Officer, Technical Secretary of the Strategic Planning Committee, and Head of the Data Management Unit.In his new role, he will support the Vice-Chancellor in advancing strategic ICT initiatives, strengthening the university’s digital infrastructure, and promoting technology-driven solutions across the institution.
