Three Killed, One Injured in Attack on Plateau Community

Gunmen have killed three youths and injured another in an overnight attack on Pwomol Village in Heipang District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident, which occurred early Monday, reportedly targeted local vigilantes on duty and marks the second attack on the community within a week.Berom Youth Moulders-Association (BYM) confirmed the attack through its National Publicity Secretary, Rwang Tengwong, stating that one suspect was arrested by security operatives shortly after the incident.

According to the group, the suspect was apprehended around the Heipang–Kassa axis and is currently in custody. Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the arrest.The injured victim is receiving treatment at a hospital, while security operations have been intensified in the area. BYM condemned the attack and called for a thorough investigation, urging security agencies to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

The group also commended the response of Operation Enduring Peace and advised residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.Recent attacks in parts of Plateau State have heightened concerns over security in affected communities.
