An All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Bauchi State, Abdullahi Adamu Usman, popularly known as Danchina, has outlined his policy priorities ahead of the 2027 elections, focusing on agriculture, security and economic self-reliance. Speaking to journalists in Jos, Danchina said sustainable growth in Bauchi and Nigeria would depend on increased productivity and reduced reliance on government support.
He identified agriculture as a key driver of economic transformation, noting that the sector could create jobs, boost revenue and improve livelihoods if properly developed. The aspirant said his administration, if elected, would prioritise youth engagement in large-scale farming and other productive ventures to address unemployment.
On insecurity, Danchina linked rising violence to poverty and joblessness, calling for stronger security structures and greater community involvement in safeguarding lives and property. He also urged public office holders to uphold accountability and integrity, stressing the need to prioritise public interest in governance.
Danchina raised concerns over Nigeria’s growing reliance on borrowing, warning of long-term economic implications, and called for improved regulation of the mining sector to curb illegal activities and encourage local processing. He further emphasised the importance of national unity and peaceful coexistence, urging citizens to promote discipline and collective responsibility as part of efforts to achieve development.
