A long-awaited clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is finally edging closer, with the winner set to receive a newly created championship prize.
Fans have spent over a decade calling for the two British heavyweights to meet in the ring, and it now appears the blockbuster bout could take place in late 2026.
Fury recently impressed with a dominant victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh attempted to spark an immediate face-off by inviting Joshua and promoter Eddie Hearn into the ring. The invitation was declined, but Fury made it clear he wants Joshua next.
Although neither fighter currently holds a world title, the fight will now have added significance. Reports indicate that a custom-made “Fight of Britain” belt—crafted entirely from gold—will be awarded to the winner, adding extra prestige to the already massive event.
Ahead of the showdown, Joshua is expected to return to action in a tune-up fight against Kristian Prenga in Riyadh on July 25. His last outing saw him knock out Jake Paul in December before stepping away from boxing for a period following a tragic car accident that claimed two of his close friends.
With both fighters now aligning for a potential November clash, anticipation continues to build for what could be one of the biggest fights in British boxing history.
