Benue State Police Command has warned violators of corona virus preventive measures to desist forthwith from the act or face the full wrath of the law.
Reacting to the non-adherence to the precautionary measures as pronounced by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, in an interview in Makurdi, the Police Public Relation’s Officer, PPRO, DSP Sewuese Aneni warned that the Police would be compelled to enforce the compliance if people continue to violate the order.
She admonished members of the public to consider issues concerning their health seriously by observing precautionary measures put in place by Government to curtail the spread of the deadly pandemic.
There have been growing concerns over the spike in the rate of Covid-19 cases in the state in recent times, as many people have continued to ignore the safety protocols to prevent the dreaded virus from spreading.
Day Break gathered that many people go about their businesses or attend events such as picnics, weddings, religious activities amongst other public gatherings without observing precautionary measures.
Meanwhile over 14 people have been reportedly died of the virus in the state with over 50 persons undergoing treatment at the isolation centres in the state.
