Senate Clerk, Ibrahim El Ladan sacked, accused of age falsification

The Clerk of the National Assembly Dauda Ibrahim El Ladan has been releived of his duties having attained the mandatory age of retirement.

However a mild drama ensures today at Senate plenary when the sacked Clerk of the Senate who recieved his letter of disengagement as at last week Wednesday the 9th of February appeared during Senate plenary and took a seat.

The National Assembly Service Commission had in a letter addressed to Ladan dated 9/2/22 terminated the appointment on grounds of age.

The letter addressed to him and titled retirement from service partly read:

“The commission at its 547th meeting held on Wednesday 9th February Has approved your retirement from service with effect from Wednesday 9th February 2022.

The commission wishes to acknowledge your immense contribution to the growth and development of the National Assembly Service.

As you proceed on retirement please hand over your office and other Government property in your possession to the Deputy clerk Senate (legislative) Illobah Isabella Ugochi”

The letter was signed by Engr Ahmed Kadi Amshi, the Executive chairman National Assembly Service Commission.

Recall that the elstwhile Clerk of the Senate has been enmeshed in age falsification controversy as there have been allegation of attempts to doctor his age with a view to continue in service beyond the statutory age limit
