Angela Okorie Criticizes Zubby Michael for Publicizing Donation to Junior Pope’s Family

Nollywood star Angela Okorie has criticized her colleague, Zubby Michael, for publicly displaying his cash donation to the family of their late colleague, John Paul Obumneme Odonwodo, known as Junior Pope.

A video showing Michael presenting the donation to Junior Pope’s widow, Jennifer Awele, and their children has gone viral on social media. Okorie expressed her disapproval of Michael’s decision to make the donation on camera, suggesting that it was inappropriate to flaunt money during such a solemn occasion.

On her Instagram story, Okorie wrote: “Zubby, a young person has died. That showcase of money wasn’t necessary. But as a local boy that you are, you don’t have sense. You don’t know where to do show and where to behave well. Do you have more money than all the dignitaries who came there? Fool.”

Junior Pope tragically died on April 10, 2024, along with three others after their boat capsized on the Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a film location. He was laid to rest in his hometown, Ukehe in Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State, last Friday.
