Ansu Fati Opens EPL Account as Aston Villa Dominates Brighton

By Daniel Edu

Brighton’s midfielder Ansu Fati, currently on loan from FC Barcelona, notched his first Premier League goal in today’s match after featuring in three league games. Fati found the net just under four minutes after coming on as a substitute for Evan Ferguson in the 46th minute.

A swift free-kick from Pedro unsettled Aston Villa’s defense, leading to a mishandled clearance that fell directly to Ansu Fati at the right post, allowing for an effortless finish.

Fati’s goal in the 50th minute arrived after Aston Villa had already secured a commanding lead, with Ollie Watkins scoring twice and an own goal from Pervis Estupiñán within the opening 26 minutes of the match.

Despite Fati’s goal, Aston Villa continued to press forward, thwarting any hopes of a comeback. In the 65th minute, Ollie Watkins completed his hat-trick, extending the lead to 4-1 in an exhilarating Premier League clash that had seen an hour of action.

Jacob Ramsey further dampened Brighton’s chances of a resurgence, extending the score to 5-1 in the 86th minute to the delight of Villa Park’s spectators.

Just when Brighton thought things couldn’t get worse, Douglas Luiz netted Villa’s sixth goal in injury time, sealing a resounding 6-1 victory for the home side.

This win catapults Aston Villa into the third position on the league table with 15 points from seven games, with the outcome of other Premier League matchday 7 fixtures yet to be determined.

As for Brighton, they now occupy the fourth spot with 15 points from seven games, pending the results of other matchday 7 encounters.
