APC Disintegrates Nigeria, PDP To Its Rescue – Baraje

From Noah Ocheni, Lokoja.

Former National chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP) , Abubakar Kawu Baraje on Wednesday in Lokoja described the ruling All People Congress (APC) as a violent party that had crashed the country in all sectors .

The former PDP national chairman who led senator Abubakar Olusola Saraki’s presidential ambition team to Lokoja, Kogi state headquarters with senator Shaba Liafiagi said the APC lacks desired organisation to rule the country again and the PDP is on the rescue mission.

Baraje said his entourage is in kogi to drum support for former senate President’s bid to fly the party flag in 2023 presidential election.

He said the ruling political party at the centre is not organised enough to conduct a free and fair election , stressing that the PDP remains a peaceful party and has been able to demonstrate it in the last general election.

The former PDP Chairman added that the party demonstrated its posture of peace in the participation of the recent governorship election in Anambra state, saying that all efforts of the APC to rig that election was foiled.

“During election, we have shown the example of what we want Nigeria to be. We are tired of deceits, we are tired of dishonesty, we are tired of violence. The second name of APC is violence,” he expressed.

He added that the ruling party has failed Nigerians, stressing that given their experience, they are working without relenting to ensure that credible people are brought on board to turn around the fortune of the country once again .

While canvassing for support of the party in the state to throw its weight behind senator Saraki’s presidential ambition, he stressed that the time has come for the North central geo-political zone to produce the president of the country .

He argued that since the advent of democratic experiment the middle belt which form the core of central geo- political zone has never produced a president for this country despite their valuable contributions, physically, politically and economically to sustain the country .

Baraje, however, warned his party members that to realise this bid, the region had to speak in one voice to frustrate the incident from repeating itself in the last party presidential primary election in portharcourt .

In his remarks, the state chairman of the party, Engineer Sam Ohoutu assured the team of their full support, assuring that the party in the state will put all the necessary machinery in motion to ensure that senator Abubakar Olusola Saraki pick the flag of the party in the next presidential election.

He said the region has suffered enough in the hands of various leaders, and as such the area have to put forward their own person that has the character, experience, intellect and exposure in person of senator saraki to bring his wealth of experience and knowledge to bear and transform the country to the benefit of the citizenry.
