Tolu Arokodare opened his Super Eagles goal account as Nigeria battled to a 1-1 draw against Russia in an international friendly at the Luzhniki Stadium.
Russia took the lead in the first half after Nigerian defender Semi Ajayi inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, giving the hosts a narrow advantage heading into the break.
Both sides had limited clear-cut chances in the first half, with neither team able to dominate proceedings.
However, the Super Eagles came out stronger in the second half, pushing for an equaliser. Their efforts paid off when Genk striker Arokodare found the back of the net with a composed finish, leveling the score.
Despite late chances from both teams, neither side could find a winner, and the game ended in a stalemate.
The result means Nigeria finishes the May/June international window unbeaten, using the match as valuable preparation ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
