Former Chelsea and Real Madrid forward, Eden Hazard, has made the decision to retire from professional football at the age of 32. Hazard, who enjoyed a highly successful career that included two Premier League titles with Chelsea, took to social media to share his retirement announcement.
In his Instagram post, Hazard emphasized the importance of knowing when to stop and listen to oneself. He expressed gratitude for his 16-year career, which saw him play in more than 700 matches across the world.
Hazard acknowledged the privilege of realizing his dream and playing on numerous football pitches worldwide. He thanked the great managers, coaches, and teammates he had the opportunity to work with throughout his career, expressing his fondness for the memories created.
Despite his accomplishments, Hazard’s career was marred by injuries, which limited his appearances during his four seasons at Real Madrid. Ultimately, he has chosen to retire, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of football.
