The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is set to launch a new trophy for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) as part of its commitment to promoting women’s football across the continent.
The unveiling of the new trophy will take place on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in Morocco — this year’s tournament host — just days before the competition kicks off.
CAF said the initiative aligns with President Dr. Patrice Motsepe’s vision to advance and elevate women’s football in Africa.
The launch will begin with a digital reveal on CAF’s official platforms in the afternoon, followed by a special activation event with tournament sponsors, TotalEnergies, later in the evening.
The 2024 WAFCON will get underway on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, where hosts Morocco will face Zambia in the opening match.
Full details and the design of the new trophy will be made public during the unveiling.
