A new book documenting the life and public service of Cross River State’s First Lady, Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, is set for unveiling in Calabar.Titled Grace in Action: The Legacy and Light of…, the book will be officially launched on April 11 at the Metropolitan Hotel. Organisers say the event will bring together government officials, religious leaders, media practitioners, and members of the public. Authored by media entrepreneur and filmmaker Magnus Oku, the publication explores Bishop Otu’s personal journey, leadership roles, and humanitarian work.
According to the organisers, the book goes beyond a conventional biography, offering insight into her early life in Creek Town and her evolution into a spiritual leader and advocate for community development and women’s empowerment. Oku, founder of Artlife Media, said the project aims to document impactful stories and promote values such as service, leadership, and social responsibility.
The unveiling is expected to serve as both a literary and cultural gathering, with discussions centred on leadership, legacy, and the role of influence in societal development. Organisers added that the event will provide an opportunity for engagement across sectors while introducing the book to a wider audience.
