Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has lamented that four of the innocent children of Bethel baptist High School, kidnapped in Kaduna are still in captivity with bandits despite different security measures put in place by the state government.
Kaduna CAN Chairman Rev. Joseph Hayab who made the assertion in a statement weekend also expressed surprised that more people are being kidnapped in the State inspite security measures.
According to him four of the students are over 120 days in captivity with bandits, given the parents, school management and church leaders sleepless night and trauma.
The statement read in parts:
“4 Baptist High School kaduna students still with Bandits over 120 days today. It is sad to again remind us that despite different security measures put forward by Government in kaduna State our children of Bethel Baptist High School who were kidnapped since July 5th 2021 at the school premises in Damishi kaduna have not all yet been released.
Parents, School management, Church leaders and relations are worried.
“We have prayed and we are still praying,we have appeal and cry out to Government and those who we think are responsible for the security of our nation but the journey to freedom for these children has been with a speed of a snail.
“CAN kaduna State therefore wish to let Nigerians know that we still have 4 of our school children in captivity. The pains and trauma their parents are going through can not be discribed.
“We must not forget these children and we are pleading with all spirited Nigerians to ,join us to appeal to those concern or do anything they can to help bring the four remaining children back home.
“CAN desire to see banditry and kidnapping in our dear state and in other part of Nigeria come to an end but sadly more people are still been kidnapped despite the measures that Government is saying she has put in place .
Government should therefore double her efforts to stop the evil these criminals are causing fellow citizens”, he stated.
