Celebrating the Achievements of Sokoto’s Finest PDP Federal Lawmakers

By Muhammad Ibrahim, Sokoto

In a heartwarming display of dedication and public service, six PDP federal lawmakers from Sokoto State have been making significant strides in improving the lives of their constituents. Their tireless efforts have led to tangible developments, empowering individuals and fostering community growth. Within a mere two-year stint, this group of Representatives has significantly countered the influence of the ruling APC in the state with their impressive track records.

As the late former United States First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.” This is precisely what Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal is bringing to Sokoto State. Having completed his constitutional but outstanding two-term tenure as the state’s Governor, where he touched nearly every aspect of human endeavor, Senator Tambuwal has continued to excel. Representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, he has consistently been a champion of empowerment and development. His initiatives have equipped youths and women with valuable resources, including sewing machines, grinding machines, chest freezers, and pumping machines to promote entrepreneurship, as well as scholarships to facilitate access to education. His efforts have also included distributing hundreds of vehicles to improve transportation. These actions have earned him a fatherly status within the PDP in Sokoto, as he represents all three districts of the state.

Senator Tambuwal has not only remained a prominent figure in Sokoto but also at the forefront of championing policies for the common people. The PDP Representatives have been praised both in the chambers and within their constituencies for their impactful work.

Hon. Abdussamad Dasuki – Member Representing Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency – has made significant strides in education and empowerment. His extensive scholarship program has provided millions in support, while he has also assisted farmers with soft grants, fertilizers, insecticides, and farming tools. Additionally, he has established a reliable communication channel with his constituents and recently provided Ramadan packages and palliatives to help alleviate economic hardships.

Hon. Bashir Usman Gorau – representing Gada/Goronyo Federal Constituency – has made waves both locally and nationally. His extensive distribution of motorcycles, cars, and tricycles in his two local governments has been notable. He has also empowered women and farmers with essential tools, including irrigation machines, insecticides, seeds, chest freezers, sewing machines, and grinding machines. Furthermore, he has supported students with scholarships and worked to promote cultural heritage among traditional rulers.

Hon. Umar Yusuf Yabo – representing Yabo/Shagari Federal Constituency – has significantly improved infrastructure and empowerment in his constituency. His initiatives include facilitating many access roads, distributing motorcycles, cars, irrigation machines, chest freezers, fertilizers, food palliatives, grinding machines, tricycles, and scholarships to promote education.

Hon. Mani Maishinko Katami – representing Binji/Silame Federal Constituency – has empowered youths and women through various initiatives. His constituency has received scholarships, palliatives, and motorcycles, as well as support for various empowerment programs.

Hon. Sa’idu Bargaja – representing Sabon Birni/Isa Federal Constituency – has also made significant contributions by distributing palliatives to support his constituents during difficult times.

Each of these lawmakers has sponsored impactful bills and motions that directly benefit their constituencies. Their collective efforts demonstrate a deep commitment to the well-being and progress of Sokoto State. As we celebrate their achievements, we acknowledge the positive impact they have had on the lives of countless individuals and the broader community.
