By Sylvanus Ofekun

The newly appointed Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Honourable Kabiru Amadu, has expressed unwavering confidence in the Super Eagles as they prepare for their crucial AFCON double-header qualifiers against Libya.

In a statement released ahead of the matches, Honourable Amadu urged the national team to secure all six points at stake in the upcoming games against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya. The Super Eagles are set to face Libya on Match Day three of the qualifiers this Friday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, with a return leg scheduled in Libya next week.

Expressing his optimism for the team, the lawmaker representing the Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency of Zamfara State highlighted the impressive performances of the Super Eagles in their previous matches. He commended the players for their displays against Benin Republic and Rwanda, emphasizing the need for them to build on their past successes.

“I have no doubt that the boys will make us proud against Libya, especially considering their recent form,” Honourable Amadu stated. “I was impressed with their performance in the last round of matches, and I believe they have what it takes to secure victory in the upcoming games.”

The Chairman also assured the players of the unwavering support of the National Assembly, with the Speaker of the House, Honourable Tajudeen Abbas, rallying behind the team to bring glory to Nigeria.

Currently, Nigeria leads Group D of the Africa Cup of Nations qualification standings, setting the stage for an exciting showdown between the Super Eagles and Libya. As the nation eagerly anticipates the outcome of these crucial fixtures, all eyes will be on the team as they strive to maintain their winning momentum and secure a spot in the prestigious tournament.

As the Super Eagles prepare to take flight in their quest for AFCON glory, Honourable Kabiru Amadu’s vote of confidence serves as a rallying cry for the team and a testament to the unwavering support they enjoy from the highest levels of government.
