By  Milcah   Tanimu

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Lucy Bronze, who joins the Blues after a successful stint at FC Barcelona. The accomplished defender has penned a two-year contract, bringing her extensive experience and impressive trophy cabinet to Stamford Bridge.

Bronze, known for her leadership and versatility, boasts an impressive career with over 400 senior appearances and numerous accolades, including three Women’s Super League titles and five UEFA Women’s Champions League victories.

Reflecting on her return to England, Bronze expressed her excitement, stating, “To know I’m a Chelsea player still feels a little bit surreal. It’s obviously a club I know so much about and have done for such a long time. I’m really excited to be back in England.”

General Manager Paul Green praised Bronze’s addition, highlighting her winning mentality and leadership qualities that will strengthen the squad.

Bronze’s journey includes successful spells at Sunderland, Liverpool, Everton, Manchester City, Lyon, and Barcelona, where she consistently lifted domestic and European trophies. Internationally, she has been a standout performer for England, contributing significantly to their achievements.

Chelsea welcomes Lucy Bronze and looks forward to her contributions in the upcoming season.
